If you have a lot of pallet or \u201cskids\u201d coming in then you know that you need to put them somewhere and putting them side by side just is not going to cut it forever. You only have so much room in your warehouse and making the most use of the warehouse space is a good idea. Where do you have space if you have already crammed as much as you can side by side, within legal limits, of course? You have space to go to your ceiling. Keep in mind that this does get into the permit process<\/a> as far as \u201chigh piled storage\u201d at some certain point. It does not change the fact that the air space above you is a prime place to store a product as long as it is safe and is allowed. You need pallet shelving units in order to make the best use of your space<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Searching for pallet shelving units:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have reached this page then it is highly likely that you searched for a pallet shelving unit. Although, pallet racks can be shelves they do not have to be “shelves” in the traditional sense. There is the type of pallet rack<\/a> called a cantilever rack which is, originally, designed to hold long heavy items. It can have a shelf but it is most commonly used without one. A lot of people use the term shelving and racking interchangeably but to the search engines, these two things are different. Shelving is usually consumer versions of storage. That is to say that they are similar to the ones you would find in your own home. Racking is, at least, to search engines, the industrial types of storage meant for businesses. Therefore, if you are searching for industrial storage then, to search engines, you should be searching for rack solutions. If you are an industrial business or not a single person who wants to use the unit as a general consumer a pallet rack unit is what you need. Pallet rack is what you will have to search for if you want to get the right product in your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is actually a very good indication that you are dealing with a reputable company. If they offer to give you the seismic testing and have proof of it then you know that you are probably doing with somebody who has seen the permit process before. They probably have helped someone through it which means that they can probably help you get through yours if it exists in your location.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Another thing to think about is if you need to get a used rack or a new rack. Obviously, if all things are equal you should get a new rack because you know that it has not been damaged and is in good condition. It is when you start getting into the use of used racks for your pallets or skids that you may run into a problem. The pallet shelving units may have damage that you cannot see. They may not have the necessary seismic calculations. You need those calculations in order to use them in your business legally in many areas. Not every local government wants or needs seismic calculations. However, there are enough places where you do that makes it smart to have them anyway. In fact, thinking about it, it would be smart to have them in place. Subsequently, you will have them just in case you ever need to sell the rack to someone else. No doubt, that someone in the future will ask you if you have the seismic calculations<\/a> for your rack. If you do not have those calculations then you might not be able to sell off the rack. It is better to have all your ducks in a row. You need them so that you can move quickly on the decisions that you make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seismic Testing:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a problem that not only happens on used racks but also new pallet shelving units. There are some companies that will sell you racks without the seismic testing that you need on the unit. You could run into the very same problem as the used versions up above. Therefore, it makes sense to deal with a reputable company. The company will provide the seismic testing and\/or calculations that you need. You can use those calculations to get permits for your racks. You can also use them to sell the racks to somebody in the future if appropriate. It is actually a very good indication that you are dealing with a reputable company. You are looking for someone who has seen the permit<\/a> process before. If they offer the seismic testing with proof of it then you know that you found the jackpot. They probably have helped someone through it. They can probably help you get through yours. Of course, this assumes that you do need permits from your local government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
